Scheduling Your Surveillance: How to Set Up Recording Schedules on DAHUA NVR

DAHUA NVRs and DAHUA DVRs are equipped with versatile recording options, allowing you to tailor your surveillance system to fit your specific needs. One of the most useful features is the ability to set up recording schedules that can be customized for each camera or applied to all cameras uniformly. This blog post will guide you through the process of configuring recording schedules on your DAHUA NVR or DVR, ensuring you have the right footage when you need it.

Prerequisites:

  • A DAHUA NVR or DVR with the 2018 firmware or later.
  • An Internal Hard Disk Drive (HDD) installed in your NVR or DVR.

Step by Step Instructions:

Step 1: Access Management Settings

  • Start by logging into the main menu of your DAHUA NVR or DVR.
  • Select "Management" to access the system settings.

Step 2: Navigate to Storage Options

  • From the drop-down menu, choose the "Storage" option to proceed.

Step 3: Select Schedule Recording

  • On the left-hand side, click on "Schedule" to access the recording schedule settings.

Step 4: Choose the Camera Channel

  • Use the channel drop-down menu to select the specific channel for which you want to set the recording schedule.

Step 5: Configure Weekly Schedule

  • Click on "Setting" next to any day of the week to configure the recording schedule for that day.

Step 6: Set Recording Options

  • You will see options for General Recording, Motion Detection (MD), Alarm, MD & Alarm, Intel, and Point of Sale (POS). For this tutorial, we will focus on General Recording.

Step 7: Define Recording Periods

  • You can set multiple periods for recording on each day. Check the "General" box and select the days you want to schedule recordings for, then click "Save."

Step 8: Visualize the Schedule

  • After setting the schedule, you will see green bars representing the general recording periods for the selected days.

Step 9: Copy Schedule to Other Cameras

  • If you want to apply the same schedule to another channel or camera, select "Copy" and then "Save" in the Copy menu.

Step 10: Save Your Settings

  • Finally, click "Save" at the bottom of the menu to save all your settings. A pop-up notification will appear at the top, confirming that your changes have been successfully saved.
