How to Set Up Tripwire with IVS on Your DAHUA NVR

Intelligent Video Surveillance (IVS) has taken security monitoring to new heights with features like tripwiring, which can detect and alert you to any movement across a predefined line in a video feed. This tutorial will guide you through the process of setting up the tripwire IVS feature on your DAHUA NVR, ensuring you can maximize your surveillance system's capabilities.

Prerequisites:

  • A DAHUA device that supports the tripwire IVS feature.

Step by Step Instructions:

Step 1: Access AI Menu

  • From the Main Menu, navigate to and click on "AI" to enter the AI configuration section.

Step 2: Enter Smart Plan

  • Click "Parameters" and then select "Smart Plan" to access the intelligent video settings.

Step 3: Select the Channel

  • Use the drop-down box to select the channel for which you want to set up the tripwire.

Step 4: Enable IVS

  • Click the IVS icon to enable it for the selected channel. The icon will highlight when activated.
  • Click "Apply" to save the changes.

Step 5: Configure IVS Parameters

  • Click "Parameters" and then "IVS" to access the IVS settings.

Step 6: Add an IVS Rule

  • Select the channel and click "Add" in the lower right side of the screen to create a new IVS rule.

Step 7: Draw the Tripwire

  • With the new rule created, click the "Pencil" icon to begin drawing the tripwire on the video frame.
  • Left-click to start drawing the trip line and use your mouse to define its path. Right-click to finish drawing.

Step 8: Configure Tripwire Settings

  • In the Tripwire menu, you can name the rule and set the direction for detection (Both, A to B, or B to A).
  • Set the Target Filter by clicking the corresponding icon to define the maximum and minimum size of objects that will trigger the tripwire.
  • Use the trash icon to clear the current rule if needed.

Step 9: Set Trigger Actions

  • Click the trigger icon to set actions that will occur when the tripwire is breached.
  • Configure the Trigger menu settings such as Period, Alarm Out, and Snapshot.

Step 10: Save and Apply Changes

  • Once all settings are configured, click "Apply" in the lower right of the screen to save all changes.

Step 11: Verify Tripwire Setup

  • The created tripwire is now programmed and active. Verify that it is working as expected by testing its response to movement across the defined tripwire.
